Beaver Creek held its homecoming on Sunday, October 29, 1972. The article below mentions that the church was under construction with a goal of raising $500.
October 1982
Beaver Creek held its homecoming on Sunday, October 17, 1982. Rev. William Gleaton gave the homecoming message, Rev. Rigby Wolfe was a special guest, and a picnic lunch followed. The new church building was dedicated afterwards and Rev. Jimmy Fanning was speaker. The Burleson Family, Beverly Walling, and the Beaver Creek Singers provided special music. George Robbie Chavis, one of the oldest living founders of Beaver Creek attended. Note: The caption below the image of George Robbie Chavis states he is one of Beaver Creek’s oldest living founders. The source of this newspaper is unknown, but the newspaper clipping belonged to his daughter, Annie Mae (Chavis) Davis. Using his birth year of 1896 and his age given in the article, the year of the article is most likely from 1982.
October 1983
Rev. John O’Cain gave the homecoming message. Rev. A. Orie Davis preached the revival weeknight services for the revival.
